How do behavior and behavioral relationships change in novel, and dynamic, environments?
Why do some species do well in urban areas, and other species disappear?
How do interspecific and intraspecific competition influence individual behavior?
In what ways does habitat quality influence individual success and population patterns?
These are just a few of the many questions that I attempt to address with my research. Generally, my interests lie within the interface of behavioral ecology, population ecology and conservation biology. I aim to explore how environmental change, particularly from anthropogenic sources (urbanization, climate change, fragmentation, etc.) may be driving individual variation and how these changes can have cascading effects for both populations and community interactions. I am keenly interested in exploring the interface between behavioral variation, phenotypic expression, reproductive fitness and interactions with dynamic selective environments. I also explore ways that behavioral patterns change across landscapes and habitat quality.
